I had a thought. in a lot of the bible, well atleast the old testament, people referred to God as, Your God, or the God of your father, or the God of your people. It kinda showed how God was not so much distant, but some how not as close. IDK how to really phrase it. Sure there was self devotion, but the priest, or I guess rabbi would read the torah, and they got the bread that way, but now we can read it ourselves, although many of us don't... I feel as if God has become more personal, but in doing so, I find that I can hate Him, and even doubt him more. As if He's a human companion. I cannot forget that I must be in fear, and awe, yet understand He loves me unconditionally, and would never give me anything that would harm me, and that He's always there. This faith stuff is hard, since it's so full of contradictions, and I keep trying to explain it all, but I can't. To me. Faith is letting go of explanations. Stop trying to explain why this is, or how it is, and just take the word of God at face value. There is no manipulation involved, what He says is what He means.
