1.5.09

Happy Monday, the first day back to school, since, forever ago. . .
It wasn't as great as I wanted it to be. I was struggling to keep my eyes open >___> oh well Here's a play by play I guess..
1st pd. I forgot my instrument, so I couldn't do anythin, and I had to file these pieces of music, but didn't know that they had numbers that corresponded with their files, so I looked through, literally, 550+ music scores to find the ones I needed. It wasn't that bad :P
3rd pd. We watched roots which is about slavery, with the Reading Rainbow guy, and OJ simpson, that man can run... FROM THE LAW, but also in real life. There was extra cred, but I didn't need it so, bleh, I just provided satirical commentary for the movie, which wasn't hard.
5th pd. We learned about Periodic table trends. <--- Self explanitory. (I DIDN'T SLEEP!!)
7th pd. Drivers ed, we talked about drugs, LOL, it was fun.

I learned about a friend, who struggles like me, with dryness, but it's more like she's losing resolve to strive to become a better christian? But I got to connect with her, and share a lot of things, and I couldn't ell her much more 'cause I didn't know much, so I turned her to the bible, which I is where all the answers are!!

Shaloom! I wore your hat today to school, and amidst all the snickering and pointing, and OMG, WHAT'S ON HIS HEAD, I loved it. (: wow this was a pretty useless update. Bleh. update later? I took a nap!

puhahaha i love you guys... :D

i think both of you guys should study on the preservation of the saints, and future glory.

study Hebrews 3 and 4... i think it applies very well... really study it

12Take care, brothers, lest there be in any of you an evil, unbelieving heart, leading you to fall away from(A) the living God. 13But(B) exhort one another every day, as long as it is called "today," that none of you may be hardened by(C) the deceitfulness of sin. 14For we have come to share in Christ,(D) if indeed we hold our original confidence firm to the end. 15As it is said,

(E) "Today, if you hear his voice,do not harden your hearts as in the rebellion."

16For(F) who were those who heard and yet rebelled? Was it not(G) all those who left Egypt led by Moses? 17And with whom was he provoked for forty years? Was it not with those who sinned,(H) whose bodies fell in the wilderness? 18And to whom did he swear that(I) they would not enter his rest, but to those who were disobedient? 19So we see that(J) they were unable to enter because of unbelief.

1Therefore, while the promise of entering his rest still stands, let us fear lest any of you should seem(A) to have failed to reach it. 2For good news came to us just as to them, but the message they heard did not benefit them, because(B) they were not united by faith with those who listened.[a] 3For we who have believed enter that rest, as he has said,

(C) "As I swore in my wrath,'They shall not enter my rest,'"

although his works were finished from the foundation of the world. 4For he has somewhere spoken of the seventh day in this way:(D) "And God rested on the seventh day from all his works." 5And again in this passage he said,

(E) "They shall not enter my rest."

6Since therefore it remains for some to enter it, and those who formerly received the good news(F) failed to enter because of disobedience, 7again he appoints a certain day, "Today," saying through David so long afterward, in the words already quoted,

(G) "Today, if you hear his voice,do not harden your hearts."

8For if Joshua had given them rest, God[b] would not have spoken of another day later on. 9So then, there remains a Sabbath rest for the people of God, 10for whoever has entered God’s rest has also(H) rested from his works as God did from his.

11Let us therefore strive to enter that rest, so(I) that no one may fall by the same sort of disobedience. 12For(J) the word of God is living and(K) active,(L) sharper than any(M) two-edged sword, piercing to the division of soul and of spirit, of joints and of marrow, and(N) discerning the thoughts and intentions of the heart. 13And(O) no creature is hidden from his sight, but all are(P) naked and exposed to the eyes of him to whom we must give account.
Jesus the Great High Priest
14Since then we have(Q) a great high priest(R) who has passed through the heavens, Jesus, the Son of God,(S) let us hold fast our confession. 15For we do not have a high priest(T) who is unable to sympathize with our weaknesses, but one who in every respect has been(U) tempted as we are,(V) yet without sin. 16(W) Let us then with confidence draw near to the throne of grace, that we may receive mercy and find grace to help in time of need.

-------------------
i think that the "evil unbelieving heart" is talking about actual people amongst believers but i think it can also apply to the evil heart inside of all of us. Satan keeps lying to us and doing everything to keep us away so we need to keep encouraging one another so that we'll persevere till the end. It also promises rest at the end

GAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHh but then chapter 4 verse 14-16 comes up!

its STILL not about us!!!! God tells us to stay strong, encourage one another, and keep seeking after Him and He will give us rest BUT! its still about Christ! HE helps us in our weakness and gives us strength, in HIM we have confidence even though we and people around us struggles, and HE reminds us that HE WENT THROUGH IT TOO!

no matter what kind of spiritual dryness you feel, JESUS WENT THROUGH IT ALL! don't forget, we NEVER have to know what its like to be completely rejected and separated from God. NEVER because of what Christ as done for us. the suffering or 'dryness' we experience for a short while in this life does not even begin to compare with the PURE AGONY of actually being apart from God. Maybe its even an insult to God to think that our imaginary separation from God compares to what Christ experienced on the cross. Only Christ will know... and i guess unbelievers who don't abide in God will find out too... but not us!

man that has so many implications... time for a bath now tho

i got the verse from this sermon but haven't gotten a chance to listen to it yet. Lets do it together!
